Kansas City Black Restaurant Week kicked off with the B.A.M JAM! Black American Music Awards.  The ceremony, celebrating and honoring musicians, producers, and organizations in music,  took place at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and State Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.

Honorees for the event were Leon Brady, Crayge Lindesay, Bird Ellington Fleming, and Lance “LA” Alexander, who are all pioneers in the world of music.  Watch our interview with Anita Dixon as she discusses how she brought this international event to Kansas City.
